The webinar will take place on April 23 at 7 p.m. Yerevan time (GMT+4), with Dr. Shakeh Kaftarian – psychologist, Co-President of the Armenian American Mental Health Association of Southern California, and Dr. Jane Mahakian – gerontologist, specializes in helping adults and their families with cognitive impairments, founder of “Alzheimer's Care Armenia”.
Dr. Kaftarian and Dr. Mahakian will hold “Psychological Impact of Isolation on the Family” webinar as part of a series of webinars under the umbrella of “COVID-19: Defying universal fear” with various healthcare professionals. This series of webinars are prepared and held by Futures Studio, powered by FAST.
The world is dealing with many unknown and alarming features of COVID-19, which have caused psychological turmoil in people of all ages. Children, teens, young and old adults, as well as elders are all worried and anxious about their health status and what the future has in store. Additionally, physical distancing can be frustrating, sometimes leading to feelings of loneliness, boredom, anger, and even depression. Dr. Kaftarian and Dr. Mahakian will address this common global experience, and share some helpful tools for coping.
